We took delivery of this new tub in Nov.,2008.
We change out the water every 4 months but will stretch it to 6 months if it hasn't been used much. The silver stick runs out and needs to be replace in that time frame as well.
The pumps still run fine and have plenty of power for us. We keep the thermostat set to 101F in the cold months but back it down to 100F when it is warmer out.

The only issue we have had so far are with the electronics. The LED pillow lights had to be replaced during the first year due to them intermittently going out until they no longer worked. The waterfall LED light had to be replaced this past spring. It had gone out last year but we waited until the weather warmed up before we called. We were charged for this repair since the warranty doesn't cover light repairs after 2 years :( The only other issue is the outside control panel will turn the jets on when it is hot out and the sun is shinning directly on the control panel. Placing a towel over the controls on hot days eliminates this.

Good spa- couple of minor things

Primary use us for my wife and I and we really like the features and the way the layout fits our use. Foot well is a bit crowded for the rated 6 adults and better for 4.
Pros- Lots of lighting choices. Good jet action, especially for calf
Cons- Runs about 4 degrees over the set temp.

We've been spa owners for years but finally made the jump to a brand new Hot Springs spa. My husband was a little hesitant on the price but once he saw the salt water system, he was sold. No mess with chemicals and it is so much more energy efficient then our 4 year old Baha spa. The jets hit all the aches and pains and are amazing after a long stressful day.

I have owned my 2010 Hot Springs Vanguard for about a year now and I use it at least twice a day. Spa Maintenance is so simple and the design of this tub is amazing, there truly is a seat for everyone and the cool off bench is very useful. The interface IQ 2020 works very well, easy to learn and elegant, very classy. I have absolutely no regrets and would buy another Vanguard (or Grandee) again.

I have had my Vanguard for 7 years now, I bought it one year after it won the Consumer Digest Best Buy in 2003. Overall, I could not be happier with it. I have a family of 4 and it sits everyone great, although my seven year old does not sit very much in it, she loves to play in it. That's great for her though because it has a wonderful cool down area where she can comfortably sit if she wants to. Even with numerous people in there, the water stays clear all the time, which is great because I am not home as much as I would like so my wife ends up taking care of it most of the time. I have tried to figure out how much it costs me a month to run, but everytime I crunch the numbers, it ends up being like $10 difference in the electric bill, so either it is extremely energy efficient, or I am not great at math. I would recommend the Vanguard to any family who wants to entertain as it has a nice open seating design, although it is great for just the wife and I when we get to use it after putting the kids to bed.
