We live in Helena Montana and Eric and the rest of the staff at Hot Spring Spa's have always treated us like friends and important customers even when we come to the store to buy supplies. We have only had two hot tubs the first one lasted 13 years so you know the quality and service is very good our second one is about 3 years old my husband and I are in our 60's so the hot tub is like a healer for sore muscles and we do lots of life planning when we sit in it. We think of it as a mini vacation..when this hot tub does get old we hope that Montana Hot Spring Spa's is still in business so we can go in the store and pick out our next purchase from Eric and the other great employees.

We thought we would like a hot tub with the lounger. Big mistake! It looks good on the showroom floor but is not very practical. Instead, the Vanguard is very space efficient and the subtle little arm rests that are engineered invisibly on the sides have proven to offer extreme comfort and control. Being able to sit up out of the tub to cool off is a great feature too. The filters are easy to clean and care for. I just put them through the dishwasher 1/wk. The lights are great for parties but when it's just the two of us, we have found that we like all lights off so we can just lay back and watch the sky. We absolutely chose the right model this time. it took 10 years to convince my husband that we should get a hot tub. He thought I would go in it a couple of times and then forget about it. We researched hot tubs and decided that Hot Springs would be the best. Boy, were we correct. I had my hot tub for three years and I go in it almost every day, evenin the winter. I always say to my husband, "did I tell you how much I love my hot tub"? Oh, and he too uses it a lot.

waterfall feature builds up scum and kicks it out into water always making spa dirty. Built in speakers are not chemical resistant and look 10 years old after one year. Several lights not working? We received a used lemon hot tub from oregon hot springs!!!

We intended to get a spa years ago but just never did. Finally! We love our spa and have used it almost every day since we got it. We are very pleased with the Hot Spring spa and don't plan on being without one again!

Search and read so many reviews on hot tubs. While these are a little more money the old saying you get what you paid for rings true here. Very professional shop to delivery and installation. We have had it now for 3 years and use it almost everyday..never an issue!

Overall a good spa, some parts cheaply made

They had to come out to replace the control panels - the tub would spontaneously go into clean mode on a regular basis. The neck pads are skimpy - the holes where they hook onto the knobs are extremely thin - even a brand new pad wasn't properly aligned. There is a small leak at the knob for the "waterfall". Finally, the cover started to become warped and waterlogged after three years and had to be replaced - I had been told that the covers last for much longer..we were extremely careful with it. In all fairness, it was a floor model.

I've had the 2009 model for a little over a year now and love it. Only had a few minor issues with the lighting system that were quickly fixed by the dealer and covered under warranty. Other than that, I highly recommend this spa. It provides a lot of therapeutic options, strong jets and comfortable seating. It's backed by a great warranty and is so energy efficient that I didn't even notice an increase in my electric bill. It's also very easy to maintain and because of the filtration and ozonator doesn't require a lot of chemicals to maintain water purification. A great spa and highly recommended!

Overall were very happy with our hot tub. I rated comfort a 4 only because the model I have doesn't have a recliner in it. And a 4 in value because it wasn't cheap however you get what you pay for.

We love our Vanguard!

After a long time shopping and comparing dozens of hot tub models from various manufacturers, we ultimately decided on the Vanguard model from Hot Spring Spas and couldn't be happier! For longevity, we wanted a spa with an ABS frame, and for ease of maintenance we decided to go with the ACE salt water sanitizing system. We also love the moto-massagers, and our young son loves the colored lighting and especially the cool down seat. It's very energy efficient and has had minimal impact on our monthly electric bill. Unlike the Aria, it uses the much cheaper paper filter cartridges. The only feature it did not have was Microban in the acrylic shell. After enjoying family time in the hot tub for almost a year without problems, we feel very pleased with our decision.

We looked at many brands, and for the money, we thought the Hot Springs was the best. We don't have any complaints and would recommend the Vanguard to anyone looking for a 4-5 person spa.

The only negatives are the time required to complete weekly maintenance and the little waterfall is a joke. However, comfort and jet performance is excellent.

Impossible to get the chemicals right

I struggled with my spa to get the chemicals balanced. I followed all the directions from the store, but I could not get them balanced. I frequently had the water tested at the store, and even tried different brands of test strips. I refilled the tub and started over THREE times. I finally had to return it. I have Fibro and Chronic Fatigue, and after a few months, I could not tolerate the chemicals. I purchased this as a medical device, rather than a social or party tub. The tub was over $10,000, and I was the only user. I showered before using and cleaned the filters. I purchased the Vanguard because it was the most powerful and had the most "stations" with different jets. I felt the Vanguard would give me the most options. I even kept the tub inside to prevent rain or other outdoor contamination. I really do not know what I could have done different. The store worked with me in the end to get a 50% refund on the tub. If you have sensitivity to chemicals, do not use a spa. I still do not understand why I was unable to get the water and chemicals balanced. Our city water is some of the best, and I used their premium chemicals.

Vanguard is the way to go

This is my second Hot Springs hot tub and I would not own any other brand. They are by far the best on the market. My first tub lasted 16 years and I will admit had I taken better care of it, I would still be using that tub. But due to neglect on my part I failed to keep up with the tub and let it sit for two years and did nothing to it. Resulting in having to buy a new tub or spend several thousand dollars to repair it. I chose to buy a new tub and I chose the Vanguard. It is much larger than my first tub which I love I can get more people in the Vanguard with ease and comfort. There is nothing negative about this tub. It is easy to operate easy to maintain and best of all it is affordable to operate. I love my hot tub and would not trade it for any other model or brand. That being said I am one happy customer and a repeat customer of Hot Springs.

I can tell you this by far is the best Hot Tub We could have purchased. After being a previous Grandee Owner I was expecting great quality but we were not expecting the superiority of the Vanguard. It by far exceeds our expectations in Overall quality, water care and effeciency.
