I've only had the tub two weeks and had to add chlorine twice. I don't think they salt treatment works near as well as they system I used on my Marquis. The motors as so powerful on the lower jets that you can't remain seated in some of the seats as it pushes you out of them. I have never found a gentle setting for the lower jets. Although I've already cleaned the filters I still don't get clear water. Body oils remain an issue of the sides of the tub and floating in the water. Also the optional cover lifter is in the way or the cover skirt when it closes so it does not seal at all on two sides of the tub.

We bought this spa in 2003. Since it’s used daily, it’s been on for all of those 16 years. Minor issues with corner moving jet tube (pretty simple to replace yourself) and the skimmer door (also easy to replace). We’ve had no major issues. We love this tub!!!

We use year round in Northern Indiana. It has provided excellent service and is always ready to go. Absolutely better than the pool we filled in way less expensive and easier to maintain. Spend 5 minutes a week on "maintenance". Love it and would never think of any other brand.

We absolutely love our vanguard hot tub, unfortunately we noticed that it had its first crack in the shell earlier this year, which was patched. A few months later we noticed a second crack near the computer and have contacted the manufacturer again, but they have been very slow in letting us know what the next step in getting this resolved is. Was hoping for better customer service and a product to hold up a little better.

The control board went out on this tub just 3 years after purchase. Despite 5 year warranty on parts, the company will not transfer to us as new owners who purchased home from the original owners in late 2016. Too many things are going wrong with the product in just 3 years, including the salt cell, so I would not purchase from this company.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with your spa. As it turns out, the limited warranty is nontransferable. This is standard within the hot tub industry. The original dealer and owner work to set up the spa and review spa care. In that setup, it is also communicated the regular upkeep for the spa. The ACE salt system is part of that upkeep. The cell lasts about two years and needs to be replaced periodically. How the spa water is managed is up to the owner. If the salt system is not ideal, you can use other products like chlorine or bromine. I will reach out to you to review your options and see what I can do to get your spa back in working order. 35 years of hot springs tubs

We are sold on this product and have had five tubs in the last 35 years. We only replace them because of the upgrades and new and different features. Easy to sell a used hot springs tub and most of them are still in use. We are very active in our mid 60's and believe the hot tubs play a role. We use our tub year round and believe it keeps us going.

Love our new Vanguard HotSpring Spa! Owned a spa in our last house and forgot how much we missed it!! The jets are perfect and the hot water puts us into total relaxation mode. Just what's needed after our grinding daily schedule.

My Vanguard was installed in 2005. It runs year-round, so it has been through 14 northern Wisconsin winters! Nothing beats getting home from a day of skiing or snowmobiling, and then jumping in to the hot tub to relax. It has been effortless to keep crystal clear, and has required very little maintenance. It costs very little to run, and I keep it at 102 year-round. It still looks great, and functions flawlessly. I hope I can get another 10 years out of it. I would replace it with the exact same model without hesitation!

I love this Hot Springs tub!! It allows me to bring peace to my soul. It’s hard to imagine my life without it now. The relaxation and calmness of laying suspended in hot water is total bliss while you listen to the birds singing or watching the sunset. It’s beyond amazing.

Most reviews are written shortly after the purchase and subjective to a short experience. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. This review is based on 30 years experience with Hot Springs. This is my second Hot Spring spa! I’m 55 years old, I bought my first hot springs spa grande at age 26. We owned it for 25 years and only replaced two heater elements, and to circulation pumps. I replaced/reconditioned all of the original authentic redwood with composite board (trex deck 1/2” fence boards I cut to size on a table saw) 20 years later making it look great again.. It was reliable and we enjoyed every minute in it! We moved once and took it with us to our new house in the country. When we purchased it it was the most expensive hot tub on the market. I was convinced of the quality and efficiency back then, so I convinced my wife this was the best choice. I had a neighbor that bought a competitive unit at the CA State Fair the same year we bought ours and three years later threw it away because the company was out of business and his controller had failed and there were no more parts available. He paid 40% of my original purchase price. He regretted his 60% savings three years later. About four years ago our Grande still worked fine, but my wife was ready for a new spa. It was aged. We found ourselves at the Spa Doctor in Modesto California. Once again we were looking at paying a 50% to 60% premium for the Hot Springs Spa name. This time it was easy convincing my wife to spend the extra bucks. We actually never looked at anything else. We purchased the spa and loved it! A few months ago we noticed a crack on the exterior portion of the tub shell. We called the Spa Doctor in Modesto California and reported the problem. They said our spa was warranted and we would receive a full replacement! We were pretty shocked! Shortly there after a brand new 2019 upgraded Vanguard Spa arrived at our house. This was 4 years after we bought the one that developed a crack! They hauled off the old spa and installed a brand new one, no questions asked, no prorated warranty, no interagation of how it got cracked, no accusation that we abused it, no problem at all! I’m sure this will be the last hot tub I will ever buy since I’m now 55, but If I do have to buy another, it will be a Hot Springs! I have no regrets paying the premium for a premium product, the products are extremely high-quality and reliable, I never had any problem buying parts for them, and the company lives up to expectations and promises. They are DECADES old which many Spa companies can’t brag about! I could go on and on but will save you the time. Thanks Hot Springs, you’re the the greatest American Customer Service Company today! Thanks to Steve and Richard at the Spa Doctor in Modesto, Ca. You are stand up guys that live up to your word! Steve is the owner and personally called me and took care of this issue. Amazing Customer Service!

Fantastic hot tub, Finally bought one to complement our backyard pool. Exceptionally nice on cool evenings. Would've given all "Excellent" but have found that shorter family members tend to "float" in some of the seats, dropping the rating to a "good" in comfort.

A slice of heaven

I was looking for a nice spa to put at my first home. After looking at several tubs, we found the Vanguard. I wasn’t looking for the top of the line or one with every bell and whistle. I wanted something that I could relax in after a long day throwing tires. After much research, the Vanguard was the best and logical choice. It’s controls are so easy my dog could use it....I’m pretty sure he does when I’m not home. It says it fits six, but we’ve had 7-8 in it comfortably. The two corners with the moto massage jets take your cares, bad days, and annoying neighbors away. The single button for the jets makes it easy for my lazy self to get in an enjoy with a nice glass of wine that I bought at Aldis. Do I love the spa....almost more than my dog! Would I recommend the Vanguard and Hot Spring to anyone looking for a slice of heaven?....OF COURSE. One of the best purchases ever....besides the new boxers my mother made me buy. Seriously, if you’re looking for a slice of heaven, and a way to ignore your problems and your pesky neighbor. Get a Vanguard or any spa from Hot Spring.

We have had our tub since 2008. First outdoors and then in a three season porch. We average 3 to 4 times a week year round. When our children were little we would go in as a family and talk all the time. We had some very minor issues over this time period. Looking forward to many more years.

A little disapointed

First tub delivered had a huge flaw. Significant crack and defect in bottom of tub. Water leaked out in about 4 weeks after start up. Dealer did bring out a new tub. New filter system was not good. Went back to the old paper filters. They work much better. Now tub has a heating problem. We have flow but no heat. been trying to get a service call for about 2-3 weeks. Finally believe I have one scheduled. Original dealer is no longer a Hot Springs dealer so had to go else where. The new dealer was helpful.

We purchased our Vanguard last fall and will tell anyone that listens it was the best money we ever spent. 15 minutes before bed literally melts the day away and we have been sleeping better than ever before. My husband has suffered chronic back pain our entire relationship - nightly soaks have provided him more relief than meds or injections ever could. We opted for the ACE system and I love how I can go straight from the tub to bed without smelling any harsh chemicals and my skin is never dry or itchy. My only complaints would be that the jets are so powerful on the MotoMassage that I feel them push me out of the seat sometimes and I wish the foot massagers were located in the middle of the bottom. Otherwise - this tub is perfect and the most comfortable that we’ve ever used!
Our only regret in purchasing the Vanguard is not opting for the NXT as the lights on the corners would have been perfect for our patio. Sadly though - because this thing works so perfectly, it’s going to be a lot of years before we need to buy another :) Thank you, Hot Springs Spas, for the best sleep of our lives!!!
