Rock solid tub

My wife and I bought this tub based on the favorable reputation of Hot Spring, the fit and finish of their tubs, and our initial impression after trying it at a dealer (NE Spas). It looked and ran fantastic (and quiet) and we're very glad we went with it. We took delivery in November 2010 and the thing works perfect every time. The only issue so far was the light on the little waterfall stopped working this past winter and was not lighting up during certain colors on the color wheel, the waterfall unit has the LED light built into it so the whole unit had to be replaced by dealer under warranty.
We have the regular chlorine system but it couldn't be simpler, and its cheap. We estimate the dollar a day electrical cost to be accurate, and we spend a few hundred a year on chemicals. Over time we also have upgraded the stock filters to the much heavier duty Tri-X brand that last much longer and you can tell are much better quality.
total maintenance is easy, add chems once a week, 3 water changes a year, clean filters once a month, ~ $200/yr worth of chems, and $350/yr worth of electricity. Worth every penny to us!

More Than What We Hoped For!

I have always been a fan of hot tubs and when planning vacations, I would try to book hotels that had nicer hot tubs.
So when we moved into our new house, I started convincing my husband that we needed to have our own hot tub. My husband started to warm up to the idea after his doctor said that a hot tub would help him recovery faster from his back and shoulder injury.
I had heard about hot tub horror stories, so we were really concerned about getting the right hot tub for us. Strong jets, no chlorine, quiet operation, easy to maintain, low energy usage and local support were on top of our hot tub wish list.
After doing research and asking friends for recommendations, we decided that the Vanguard was the tub for us! It is everything we hoped for and more!
We use our tub about 3-4 times a week and the Moto Massage has really helped reduce my husband’s pain.
We love our tub and we will definitely recommend Hot Spring to everyone!

Great hot tub!!

I've had my Vanguard for about four months now and I love it. It's ready to go all the time! With the ozone filtration system it really uses very little chemicals. Just a capfull of oxidizer with each use and a capfull of shock every couple of weeks and your good to go!
Super efficient, but it did hike my PGE bill up about $50-80, depending on the temp you like to keep it at. I keep mine at 102.
Jim at The Hot Tub Store in Vacaville was awesome! No pressure, informative and followed up a few times after the sale to make sure I didnt have questions and that we were enjoying our new spa.

Installed new Vanguard Sept 2010. Very nice experience coming from an Everfresh Prodigy model. The Ace salt system works well, but please note, the the ace cell itself only lasts 15 to 18 mos tops. Cost is $900 to replace. I find that very expensive, but it is easier to maintain as long you understand this maintenance cost.

A good value, installed 9/2010, very easy to maintain. Some issues with cleaning the salt cell and topside blue light flashing, now going on two weeks?

We absolutely LOVE our Living Springs Vanguard tub. We use all year round, the cold weather doesn't stop us. Our concerns before purchasing were the utility cost. I'm happy to say our electric bill hasn't noticeably increased. It definitely was a great purchase!!

Unforseen benefit is the one on one time with my wife. We really have a chance to connect and dispel the stress of the day in the convenience of our own back yard. Soothes tired muscles and prepares us for a good night's sleep.

My first hot tub

I love my hot tub. It is the perfect way to end the day, or start the morning on the weekends! After soaking in the evening, going to sleep is so easy. Also, after a long bike ride or run, it is a great way to soak out the aches and pains. The saltwater system is the way to go, no nasty fumes or chemicals. The water care has been easier than I imagined. Overall, a great addition to our home.

We had a Hot Springs Grande at our old house for 15 years - when we sold our home, it still worked like new and we we sad to leave it behind. We quickly purchased a new spa at our new home. The Vanguard is awesome with the salt system. We expect this one will be with us for many years of relaxing pleasure.

Love this spa! It was the best purchase of our lives. It is outside and overlooks the lake and when we come home from snowmobiling and it is 25 below zero, we giggle getting into it. We can't believe we are living "the life" each time we get in. (about 5 times a week). We thought the newness would wear out, but after a year, we enjoy it today as we did the first day we had it. We like the fact that we do not have a lounge seat, when we are with guests it makes more sense and when it is only my hubby and I, we are practically laying out in it anyway. We love the size.

We Love our new hot tub! From the sales person "Moe" who was so nice and helpful, to the delivery and set up to the wonderful customer service. Olympic hot tub is the best!!! We have never owned a hot tub before so we had lots of questions.They did not leave us hanging. The customer service is exceptional!!!

We absolutely love it! So relaxing and soothing after a long day! Wish it had more secure drink holders and a better design for shorter people. Available booster seat could be much better. Other than that we wouldn't change a thing! Maintenance is super easy. Love it!

The jets have too much pressure even on their lowest setting. Seats in the corners are so low that you tend to be shot out of them when you completely relax. The add on iPod music system was way more expensive than it was worth. The dock mechanism is fragile and the iPod is held in with a Velcro strap. The remote is very picky and difficult to use. The placement of the speakers makes them hard to hear with the jets on unless you are sitting right next to them.

At first I thought the tub was too big just for my wife and I, however after the first week of use, we came to the conclusion the tub was the perfect size, just not for ourselves, but also when we have company. The larger size tub allows us to use different jets for relaxing....the lighting is nice and soothing...I didn't think the lighting would be an essential items but it is. The vanguad tub is a luxury looking tub compared to the other brands we looked at....we are so pleased with our decision.

We decided to purchase a Hot Springs Spa rather than to go through the headache and expense of putting in a pool.
We are 110% satisfied with our decision.

We had an older Hot Tub that came with the house we purchased. While it was under the "Home Buyers Insurance Policy" we had it repaired each time it stopped working (pump failed, circuit board, etc.) When insurance policy ended and after reviewing our electric bill we decided to purchase a new Hot Tub. We have had it over a year. The salt system is great! The jets are the best and the use of smaller pipes and pumps has reduced energy usage by over 70%. One of the best decisions made on a purchase.
