We have been enjoying out Vanguard model for over 4 years. We have had no repair needs, other than some warranty work in the beginning (lights got wet when the caulking seal failed). Other than that, it has given us great service.

My Vanguard has only been in for three days and I am already sleeping better at night and feeling more pain free at my desk during the day. Had a lesser brand for 12 years that finally gave up the ghost. I had no idea what I was missing. 10-15 minute soak, moving from seat to seat, as relaxed as I get with my usual 90 minute massage. In fact, I may back off massage therapy because of this spa. Tip- I turned temp down from my initial setting of 103 to 101 so I can stay in longer and get more massage action.
Went three hours from my home town to find a great dealer in Macon Georgia.
My wife did not use my old spa very much because she did not feel it was clean. The 100% filtering 100% of the time feature makes her very comfortable about joining me for a soak.

My Vanguard Spa

Our Vanguard Spa was delivered on October 25th and we started enjoying it early the following morning. We are very happy with the performance of this spa and are looking forward to many relaxing sessions. A spa treatment shortly before going to bed makes you sleep like a baby ... AH!

Good, but could be better

I love the Vanguard. My wife and I have owned and enjoyed one for the past 3 years and have not had an issue with it other than the ACE system. It seats 6 comfortably, is very easy to clean and maintain, filter access is far easier (and the ceramic filters last longer) than my earlier Thermospa tub, and it keeps temperature accurately in all kinds of weather. Can't say enough good things about the tub itself.
Unfortunately, while I understood that since the ACE was new at the time there may be "teething problems", if I had to do it again I'd probably forego the ACE and just use a regular chlorine / bromine system. The ACE system is great when it works, but the ACE cells are expensive to replace and the average lifespan only seems to be about 1 to 1 1/2 years, not the 14000 hours predicted.

Yes, we had some hiccups with the early ACE system but the cell life is showing to be more along the lines of 2-3 years. Now that we are in our Vangaurd every day we keep asking ourselves why we didn't buy this ten or fifteen years ago. For sure we will never be without a HotSpring spa in the future!

We love our Vanguard Spa

We replaced an older spa, made by a company that went out of business, with A Hot Springs Vanguard spa. We have the ACE system which makes it so easy to maintain the water. The soft water makes you feel clean when you get out, and you don't have the chemical smell like we had with our old hot tub. The different jets are very relaxing. We love the moto massage jets. The led lights really enhance the hot tub experience. The controls are very user friendly.

Good product, except for bad lighting electronics.

Our spa was installed in June 2012. It's very relaxing and great for my arthritic knees, bad shoulder and lower back pain. Since I began soaking in it nightly I feel better overall, and am even sleeping better. Overall it's a quality product that we are very happy with, with one exception, the lights.
After just 2 months of use, the bartop lights were malfunctioning, with two of the LED's illuminating in one color and the other two in another. The dealer promptly replaced them, only to have them start malfunctioning again in just another 8 weeks of so. Since then, the dealer has been out at least 6 times to replace the light sets, and once they replaced the light control module. On one occasion the light sets were replaced only to begin malfunctioning again within 24 hours. Finally, on their last visit in June 2013 the light sets and light control module were both replaced and that seemed to fix the problem, but now the bartop pieces have been removed so many times to replace the lights, the bartop pieces (cup-holder & light-ring) are cracked and broken, The dealer assured me he will replace these pieces as well.
Now however, just a month ago the lights in the water-feature are now malfunctioning (one LED one color, the other LED in another color) and need to be replaced. It seems that any light fixture with more than 1 LED does not work as intended for very long.
Throughout all this the dealer has been very apologetic and easy to work with doing everything in his abilities to remedy the situation. However, it seems to me that the electronics controlling the lights were poorly engineered, or I got a lemon off of the assembly line. Even though the dealer is doing everything he can, the problem keeps reoccurring and the warranty on the lights expires in June of next year. Because of the continual problems my wife and agree that when it is time to get a new spa, Hot Springs will most likely NOT be the brand we go with. If it were not for the constant problems with the lights, we would be completely satisfied.

Vanguard Spa Just Delivered

Received our Vanguard Spa this afternoon in perfect condition. Great purchase experience with James Plumbley at the Great Atlantic Pool & Spa in Yorktown. Delivery and setup was very profesionally done by Derrick and Jason. Electrician is scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning. Looking forward to getting into the Spa for the first time on Friday.

My wife and I have previously owned hot tubs and to be honest, we tried to save a few dollars and bought tubs that we thought would be "good enough" and saved us a few dollars.
BIG MISTAKE!!!
When we moved from Washington state to Arizona we left our old tub behind and had spent the better part of two years looking at higher end tubs as well as a few in the mid range. It did not take long for us to decide we would not make the mistake of compromise on quality vs dollars again and we narrowed our search to higher end tubs.
I have had five back surgeries and really wanted a good back massage feature in our new tub. The HotSpring Moto-Massage is in a class all it's own.
I will repeat that....The HotSpring Moto-Massage Is In A Class All It's Own!
The jet system is wonderful and the insulation process used in the Vanguard tub is so efficient that the heat recovery system on the electric motors captures enough heat to keep the tub at 99 degrees well into the night without cycling on the heater.

Our spa was delivered less than 2 weeks ago and we have been in it almost every day since. The jet strength is amazing and makes my body feel 20 years younger. I have been in other spas with powerful jets, but the placement of the jets in the Vanguard are just right. We are very happy with our purchase.

Replacement Spa

We purchased a Vanguard Spa approximately 12 years ago. We have been pleased. The unit eventually needed general replacement. The new Vanguard was purchased 2013. There have been many improvements, including quality, functional additions, jets, controls, lighting, etc. The spa is positioned as a step down from an upper/lower deck and the seating arrangements are ideal for the stepdown (a consideration for older owners). The spa water has remained crysstal clear with minimal maintainence. This is a recommended product.

Very Happy So Far

We have had our Vanguard for almost a month now, and couldn't be happier. The motto massage features are absolutely exactly what the doctor ordered in my case. I have back issues that require surgery which I have elected to push off as long as I can. I have gotten in the spa right b4 bed each night and the results have been better than even hope. Its really helped me sleep, and get thru my 10 hour shift at work a lot easier. Thank you Hot Springs. Its still very early in my owning of this spa, but I have nothing but excellent words to say. Great hot tub

After TONS of research, I decided to go with a HotSprings hot tub. This is the first hot tub we've owned, but I love it. I love the moto-massage feature. The kids and their friends always want to be over here in the hot tub, so that is an added bonus! I've had a hard time getting a hang of the water chemistry, but I also have 5 teenage boys who are using it constantly so.....
Needless to say, I'm very happy with our purchase!

We finally ditched the pool we'd put up every year only to have to constantly pour chemicals in an effort to keep clean only to swim maybe one month a year anyway in our short Wisconsin summers! We are so impressed with our Hot Springs Vanguard Hot Tub. We use it every day!

Have only had this tub for a few days but I am impressed at the water clarity. We love the lights, and my wife especially loves the foot jets. Its quiet and comfortable. Best way to relax away the cares of the day!
