High maintenance, high cost, poor value

We researched spas for several years before taking the plunge and getting on. Decided on HotSpring as we understood it to be the Cadillac of spas. We’re encouraged multiple times to get the salt system in order to reduce maintenance & cost. We’ve spent more time maintaining than using the spa at this point. After nine months of ownership, we’ve had to drain and clean it 3 times and getting ready for a fourth this weekend. The water turns cloudy in a heartbeat. We have the current setting for the salt system set to 10 the highest it will go as instructed and it still frequently has very low chlorine. This weeks water testing revealed it was super high in calcium. We take our sample in regularly as instructed, add the chemicals they tell us to, and the very next week . . . Cloudy water. Save your money and go on a cruise!

Not only is this hot tub easy to use, easy to maintain and care for, and easily accommodate our family of 5 comfortably... it is beautiful! It is the perfect completion to our backyard oasis and everyone that sees it has a open jaw 'whoa' expression. Absolutely love and recommend it!!

I love this thing and want to love it more, but I bought because I thought it would be chemical-free but it hasn't been yet. Salt System isn't dialed in and I have to add lots of chlorine. I also wish the seats were a little smaller and higher, but maybe I just lower water level?

I am disappointed in the quality of this tub. A little over 2 years ago, I replaced a leaking heater. I just had to replace the heater again for the exact same problem. It is a crazy expensive part. The Moto Jets have also stopped working in both corners and the price tag of those parts are unreasonable so we are settling for our hot tub "as is". I was very happy with my purchase at first, but moving forward I see that the quality is just not there.

The best hot tubs on the market.

We just bought our third Grandee in 23 years, they are the best hot tubs on the market. We moved to another house and did not have a place to set it up. This house we wanted a Grandee so bad we had a concrete pad poured and ordered a new one. You can use a hot tub year round l in Maryland but a pool is only good for 3 months out of the year. Very relaxing and it is very comfortable and easy to maintain.

The Only Spa To Buy

This is my second Hot Spring Grandee saltwater spa. Both were purchased from Prisco Pools & Spas. I would not buy a different spa or purchase it from a different dealership. The spa is built with quality and easy to maintain. We never noticed a spike in our electric bill and we use the spa all year long. We love soaking while the snow is falling. The salt system is easy to maintain and makes the water feel silky. Living in the north-east we are happy that there is no heat loss even in the cold winter months. The jets have a lot of controls allowing each person to adjust the pressure to their preference so they can soak comfortably.
If you are looking to buy a spa there is only one to consider Hot Springs! If you live in NJ or NY shop at Prisco Pools & Spas!

The absolute best spa experience you can imagine is in a Hot Springs Saltwater spa. We love the salt water. Its soothing and you don't even know our in saltwater. I use the spa year round. Early spring and late Fall are my favorite times of the year to jump in. those cold winter days are great also.
The maintenance is minimal. If you take care of it, it will take care of you.
There are plenty of jets and you can control the force from each seating location. You can have it on high and the person next to you can have them soft.
If you are considering a spa you won't go wrong with Hot Springs.
The Prisco dealership team in New Jersey is great to work with.

Problem after Problem

We bought our Hot Springs tub and chiller in mid to late 2015. For the first few months everything was great. Then we started having chiller problems. The warranty was taken care of the first time. Then we started having problems with the tub. We have had them out three times in 4 years for issues with the chiller. Now the warranty is over and they said we need a new compressor for the chiller. I was told by the dealer that it is cheaper to buy a new chiller. I was also told they have had a lot of problems with the chiller units. What even makes it more frustrating is the dealers service provider wont work on the chillers. I was told that I needed and HVAC company to fix it. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANYTHING WITH A HOT SPRINGS NAME ON IT. When we bought this unit we were told that Watkins was a publicly traded company and I would be taken care of.

We (I) love our hot tub. My only real issue is we are now on our third cell in three years. Our second one was replaced free under warranty. I follow the cleaning guidelines to the tee and still another recent failure.

While cleaning the cell is essential for the overall life of the system, there are other process and factors to consider. On average, the cell will last 2 years.

Buying this grandee was the best investment I ever made! It's also the best investment for the body, mind and soul! I have had many friends over to try it out and all have bought hotsprings spas of different models to fit their budget and they love them!. I recommend getting a hotsprings spa.

Love our new Grandee spa, and my lower back loves it too! The massaging corner seats are out of this world. The pulsing vertical motion of the jets feels like heaven on your lower back.

I bought my Grandee in 1992. In NY and had it moved to Orlando in 1998. Thanks to Jeremy “the Spa Guy” and the team at Hot Springs in Casselbery,Fl it is still the worthwhile purchase. Total maintenance costs in all these years has been minor.

Good tub, but removable control panel is a total bust

The control panel is only water-resistent, not waterproof. When kids leave the jets on but close the cover, the panel gets drenched and doesn't work. Also, because it's removable, people sometimes drop it into the hot tub or simply misplace it. The hot tub overall is beautify, well-designed, roomy and comfortable. But the removable panel ruins the other attributes. If we had known about this before we bought, we never would have purchased it.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you do not find your spa to everything you'd hope it would be. You are correct the wireless controller is water resistant as stated. It is not meant to be held underwater for a prolonged amount of time. It can we float and be splashed on, it withstands normal spa usage. Our spas are equipped to shut off the jets after a certain amount of time. The jets are meant to be enjoyed while in the spa and not when the cover is down. Operating the spa as recommend will prevent excess water spilling over. I hope with some small adjustments you will be able to enjoy your spa and relax in hot water therapy.

Our first hot tub was a used Sovereign we bought from the Hot Springs dealer. Was great but after a few years we decided we didn't need a hot tub anymore so we sold it. Fast forward two years later and we bought a cheaper brand hot tub, brand new. It was nothing to even compare to Hot Springs. It cost more to run, did not have all time re-circulation, did not have the drain on the bottom; nothing was more annoying with the non-hot springs tub than having to scoop out that last couple of gallons. It had only one filter for two pumps and was loud. We sold it in less than a year and bought a brand new GRANDEE! It’s great! It cost a lot more but man it’s worth it. The old one was 220v also but was three times more costly a month. The insulation is very good on the hot springs; can turn off the tub at 104 degrees and the next day it’s still 100 degrees! Closed cell foam so it doesn't soak up water if there was a leak and Moto massage is a must have and no one else has anything close. Can’t say enough about them. It’s like if you drive Cadillacs and then you drive a Prius...all you want is that Cadillac again.
