You get what you pay for (expensive but worth every penny).I'm happy that I chose to spend the extra money for a quality product. I can only imagine if I spent half the money, I would ultimately regret it.

Top Notch In Every Respect

We've had our Envoy Spa for 3 years. Still looks and runs like new. The quality of materials and workmanship is second to none. Very easy to maintain. Installation was a breeze by the crew from Leisure Lifestyles in Auburn, Alabama. We love it and highly recommend HotSpring Spas.

Do not go with the cheap spas. This is worth every Penny. It is very comfortable and takes very little time to keep clean. The moto jets are amazing.

Too many issues

1. Spa came with improper control panel.
2. New spa control panel did not properly measure salt content.
3. Galvanic corrosion caused rusting of stainless rings and they all had to be replaced.
4. Temp control system spikes about 2-3 degrees above locked setting.
5. Ace Salt water system failed and had to be replaced.

We are aware of some of the challenges that the ACE system may have caused due to the newness of the technology. With your dealer's support we can and will resolve any ACE issues, as we now are very confident in the ACE system and it's performance. As for the temperature issues, it's important to understand that the spa itself does not have a method to cool itself down. Locking the temperature means that the set temperature cannot be adjusted, but does not mean that the water temperature is locked in. If the ambient temperature is very hot, then that will cause the water temperature to increase. And, because our hot tubs are well insulated, they will hold that heat for some time. If the weather is hot, and you find your water temperature to be hotter than you would ike it to be, you could adjust your set temperature a few degrees down to account for the efffects of the heat outside.

I have to clean the filters every week to every other week; it is not low maintaince or chemical free. the filters are extrememly expensive and do not have the life they were advertized to have for the price (5 yrs). the chemicals, silk balance and other addatives that are needed are also expensive. the only cheap part is the silver ion. I love the tub but am disappointed that it takes so much maintence when you use it alot.

I bought my 2009 Envoy new from the factory through my local dealer after wet testing all locally available brands. The Envoy had the right combination of features and fit my particular needs and setting. I have been mostly very happy with it and use it almost daily in the cold months. It maintains temperature well, is comfortable and the therapeutic benefits are great. The energy efficiency is good considering the size and very cold temps outside.
On the negative side, there were some quality control issues. The heat/plumbing access door was improperly drilled in one corner and split the frame, causing that screw not to hold and a crack in the door developing. Several small pieces of plastic in some of the jet housings (the moto-massage being one) have come loose and were found in the filter compartment. Lastly, the main diverter knobs do not engage in their on/off positions solidly. It is difficult to feel if they have clicked/snapped into the open or closed position completely and they both emit a whooshing sound indicating they are slightly ajar. It requires some finicky positioning to get them fully seated.
Overall, I do enjoy my Envoy and have come to grips with the required water maintenance, using Silk Balance. The jets provide plenty of force and can be adjusted fairly easily. I might quibble with the layout of a few of them, but then you can't please everyone. For instance, in the therapeutic corner seat that I tend to gravitate to, I would prefer 2 smaller foot jets to the 1 large on, causing me to repeatedly shift position of my feet. Placement of the wrist jets is too far out to reach comfortably and I am a big guy in that regard. Still and all, I would do it again.

The envoy is a great tub, we have had no issues through the first year of ownership. The ACE salt system has really minimized the amount of water care necessary and the water care that is required is very quick and easy.

expect more for the price

In less than 1 year of ownership, have had problems with lights, motomassage, and had to have the lines blown out due to clog. Also, clips on topper do not latch well and eventually due to high winds, one ripped off. Had to purchase high wind straps. We have maintained the spa according to manual instructions and i feel that for the money, there have been too many problems.

It's a chemical eater, not made for tall people,problems with cover that don't get resolved,would have never spent money on it if I had known ,would have spent it on a jaccuzzi for house

I love my Envoy, BUT . . .

This is my 2nd Envoy (I bought my first one in 2004) so, obviously, I'm a fan. However, I just purchased the new and improved version a year ago with the salt generator as an added feature and have had many many problems with the bar lights (they've been replaced 3 or 4 times over the past year and I hear this is a problem with many new spas) and the salt generator head (the 3rd one just conked out). When the salt generator is working, the ease of not purchasing chemicals and testing the water is as advertised. It's wonderful and totally worth it. WHEN IT'S WORKING! Plus, Watkins has taken its good old time getting the part to my dealer (it's been over a month now and I'm still waiting). So, until these bugs are finally worked out, I will recommend their product-with reservations. Watkins: If you are reading this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET THAT PART TO MY DEALER (Regina Pool and Spas in Timonium) ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
